Bull (Wildfire)
At approximately 1350 today, Firefighters from the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land management and Kern County Fire Department responded to a report of a wildland fire in the Bull Run Creek area, off Burlando Road, in Kernville. The fire was burning on National Forest lands in grass, brush and scattered pines. First on scene reported the fire to be between 3-5 acres. Modoc Lighting Complex (Wildfire)
Over the course of two days a series of lightning strikes have caused 85 fires. The largest of the fires is the Peak Incident at 75 acres, as of 2000, July 26, 2010. Based on the numbers of fires, resources committed, and weather predictions for the remainder of the week, a Type 2 IMT was ordered and Nor-Cal Team 1 was dispatched. Mono Fire (Wildfire)
The Mono Fire is burning in the Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area of the Inyo National Forest. It is burning in between US 395 and the north end of the Mono Craters, south of Highway 120 East. Highway 120 East is currently closed past the turn-off to the dump. Test Station Road and the day use areas at South Tufa and Navy Beach on the shores of Mono Lake all remain closed. Packer Meadows Fire (Wildfire)
Missoula, MT. July 28, 5 p.m. - The Packer Meadows Fire exhibited some single tree torching today but remained at approximately 150 acres as firefighters continued to improve and construct fireline. Three helicopters made bucket drops along the fire perimeter, assisting suppression on the ground. As temperatures increased today the fire became more active and continued to consume fuel along the edges and within the perimeter.
